Greenville, the seat of
Butler County, is also known as the Camellia City and the "city of
smiles"! It is where State Highway 10, US Highway 31 and I-65
converge, and is served by State Highways 185, 245 and 263.
It is just half an hour south of Montgomery and is roughly halfway
between Mobile and Birmingham, and between Atlanta, GA, and New
Orleans, LA.
The Butler County Fair is among the many things to do and places to
see in the region. Every September the fair presents livestock,
crafts, flower shows, baked goods and carnival rides.
Outdoor activities abound in Greenville. Sherling Lake Park provides
relaxing nature walks and wonderful wooded glades. Hunting for deer,
turkey and quail are all available, and there's plenty of fishing in
the many creeks and ponds. |
